Sewage sludge (also known as ‘biosolids’) refers to the semi-solids left over from municipal waste water treatment. Current legal disposal options include incineration, landfill, and land application to agricultural land, rangeland, or forests. Careful application is required as to levels of pathogens that are prevalent in biosolids.
Biosolids sludge processed by ECOS/Bio-ART is the fastest, cost-effective technology, that destroys harmful pathogens and remediates most drugs and hormones that are prevalent in biosolids. After a processing time of only seven days, the biosolids is reduced by 1/3 and can be safely used as a fertilizer per EPA regulations.
